美国当代黑人作家杰丝米妮·瓦德在《唱吧!未安葬的魂灵》中,通过叙事、人物和主题三个层面的魔幻性书写,深刻描写了美国黑人所遭受的种族歧视。小说建构了一个超越生死和时空界限的奇幻世界,塑造了一些具有鲜明伏都教美学特征的人物,探索了向死而生的主题,彰显了黑人文学作品的艺术张力。在现实和虚构、历史和当下的交织中,小说批判了种族歧视的罪恶,肯定了黑人传统文化的精神力量,表达了黑人群体追求自由、平等的强烈愿望
Abstract:
Jesmyn Ward, a contemporary black American writer, described the racial discrimination suffered by blacks in the United States in Sing, Unburied, Sing through the magic writing at the three levels of narration, character and theme. This novel constructed a fantasy world beyond the boundaries of life and death, time and space, shaped a group of characters with distinctive aesthetic characteristics of Voodoo, explored the theme of “born to die”, and highlighted the artistic tension of black literary works. In the interweaving of reality and fiction, history and present, the novel criticized the crime of racial discrimination, affirmed the spiritual power of black traditional culture, and expressed the strong desire of black groups to pursue freedom and equality.
