本文对四位高校外语教师开展了关于跨学科研究感知的质性案例研究。研究发现:四位高校外语教师主要将跨学科研究理解为个体独立跨越学科边界的探索,认为跨学科研究有利于学科发展和科研创新、现实问题的解决,以及跨学科人才培养;他们感到外语学科正在加快形成跨学科研究意识,但跨学科研究现状不佳,影响因素包括学科壁垒、知识缺陷、设施不足和评价不利等;他们自我评价跨学科研究能力一般,因为其过去接受的教育没有提供系统的跨学科研究训练,其有限的跨学科研究能力发展于自主学习和专家引领。本文为强化外语学科跨学科研究提供了启示。
Abstract:
This paper explores four university foreign language teachers’ perceptions of interdisciplinary research through a qualitative case study. It draws the following conclusions. First, the four university foreign language teachers understand interdisciplinary research as individual efforts to go beyond the boundaries of the discipline, and point out its three functions: Promoting disciplinary development and academic innovation, solving practical problems, and cultivating interdisciplinary talents. Second, they feel an increased awareness of interdisciplinary research, but also a lack of interdisciplinary studies resulting from disciplinary boundaries, the knowledge deficit among teachers, the lack of academic facilities, and the unbeneficial evaluation. Third, they have insufficient interdisciplinary research competency, which is rooted in the lack of interdisciplinary training while they were getting education. Their interdisciplinary research competency develops through autonomous learning and expert mentoring. The paper ends with implications for enhancing interdisciplinary research in the foreign language discipline.
